Emil's, Lansing's oldest restaurant, will close its doors on October 30th. Owner Paul Grescowle's grandfather, Emil DeMarco, started a fruit stand in 1921 that eventually became a bar before evolving into the bar restaurant that's occupied its space on Michigan Avenue for decades.

The Lansing State Journal has all the particulars here of what's next for Grescowle, who says it's time to take the family business in a new generation. And at 58 years old, he's gotten a bit weary of the 100 hour work weeks.

I used to spend a fair amount of time in the bar, eating pizza and enjoying wine. Your favorite memories of Emil's?
