Lugnuts Season Opener Snowed Out

The Lansing Lugnuts will have to wait it out one more day to officially get their 2017 season underway. Early Thursday afternoon, the official release came from Lugnuts brass that the wintry mix cursing the state today has forced the Great Lakes Loons and Lugnuts to postpone today's opener at Midland's Dow Diamond.

As a result, the two teams will start the year with a Friday traditional doubleheader getting underway Friday afternoon at 4:00 PM. Game Two will follow the conclusion of Game One by 30 minutes.

But, the weather forecast still looks picture perfect for Saturday's Lugnuts Home Opener at Cooley Law School Stadium. The team will be holding a block party in front of the park on Michigan Avenue beginning at 3:00 PM featuring a Meet The Team event, live music from Global Village, and free hats for the first 1,000 people into the ballpark Saturday night for the 6:05 PM first pitch.
