Halloween is only a week away, and if you are stocking up on candy, make sure to have plenty of M&Ms as they are Michigan kids' favorite.

About 170 million people celebrate Halloween in America, and we like to spend a lot of money on the holiday. According to the National Retail Federation consumers are expected to shell out $3.2 billion dollars on costumes, $2.6 billion on candy, and $390-million dollars on greeting cards, which is an average of $86.

Before you go out and buy your candy, just know that Michigan's favorite candy isn't candy corn anymore according to a new survey. A few things about finding out Michigan's favorite candy. First, all of these candies are brand names so Hershey's, Reese, Snickers, etc. Those are the ones you'll be seeing, and yes some states still picked candy corn. In addition, this list is from influenster.com, and they surveyed more than 40,000 Influensters to find out which Halloween candies hold a special place in their heart.
