Mt. Hope Road in East Lansing to Close Today
Mount Hope Road from the US 127 underpass to the MSU Commuter Lot 89 (I think they mean Farm Lane) will close at 8:30 this morning through early afternoon.
Sounds like the Mount Hope-Harrison intersection will be closed to traffic today, too, for road improvements.
Motorists are asked to drive with caution through this area and you might find it useful to take a different route to get where you're headed.
The CIinton County Road Commission has a deal with the City of East Lansing to apply a 'fog seal' to the road.
I had no idea what a fog seal is, so I searched the interwebs and found this:
"A fog seal is an application of a specially formulated asphalt emulsion (a thin liquid oil) to an existing asphalt pavement surface. A fog seal gets its name from its spray application, sometimes referred to as “fogging"..Fog seals are low-cost and are used to restore flexibility to an existing HMA pavement surface."
So now we know.
