New Public Athletic Fields Coming To South Lansing Park

A much needed and welcomed addition to Lansing's south side is coming in the form of new public athletic fields. WLNS.com reports that Risdale Park, on Pleasant Grove between Risdale Avenue and Reo Road will soon be home to a brand new natural turf athletic field after a $813,000 upgrade. Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero made the announcement Wednesday morning with officials from Lansing Parks and Recreation. The project will be funded by the city's Community Development Block Grant, and will house practice facilities for youth football, soccer, and other sporting activities. The project is expected to be completed by Fall of 2017.
