WLNS TV 6 Anchor Sheri Jones has been involved with Habitat for Humanity Capital Region for many years, not only helping to promote Habitat's provision of homes for over a thousand families (!) in the past 30 years, along with home repairs, wheelchair ramps and new-home construction, but Sheri also rolls up her sleeves and swings a hammer to help out.

Next on the agenda, Sheri and and our friend Carmen Hall (along with a whole crew of others from Greater Lansing), are heading for Africa in April to build a home for orphans near Homa Bay, Kenya, in April. After ten days of work, they'll head back to Michigan, leaving behind a fully constructed house.

Many thanks to Greater Lansing businesses who've helped make this dream a reality, including Neogen Corporation, Dean Trailways of Michigan, Okemos Auto Collection, Lansing Rotary, LAFCU, Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, Loomis Law Firm and Kolt Communications.

You can also help to buy building materials for the house with a $100 contribution at the Lansing Home & Garden Show at the MSU Pavilion this weekend. Your tax-deductible contribution will also get you one of these beautiful bracelets!
