Westphalia Principal and Son Found Dead in Montcalm County

WLNS TV 6 reports that 52 year old Pewamo Elementary Principal George Heckman and his 28 year old son, Grant, were found deceased in a van around 7:45 PM yesterday. The vehicle was parked on a dirt road in Carson City, in Montcalm County's Bushnell Township.

Heckman, who was supposed to take over as Superintendent of the Pewamo-Westphalia School District in ten days, didn't show up for a board meeting last night, which raised concern and led to the search.

Causes of death have not yet been confirmed.

All activities at PW Community Schools have been cancelled for today. Grief counselors will be on hand.
