We've got Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday and with all this "getting" we do the days after being Thankful for what we have, Giving Tuesday is the best way to give to someone else.

I'll admit, at least for me, all those other big shopping days I spend most of it finding deals on gifts to give the people in my life who are most special to me, though, I do peruse for answers to the never-ending question "what are some Christmas ideas for you?"

It is so easy to get caught up in worrying about gifts for those you know who may not necessarily even need them. However, in a year like this whatever ways you can to show the people you love just how much they mean to you is more important than ever.

That being said, it has been a hard year on everyone which means there are more people than ever before who need the help this year, many people you may not even know...and that's where Giving Tuesday comes in!

According to National Day Calendar, Giving Tuesday was started in 2012 by a Y on 92nd Street in NYC who wanted to create a day meant for giving "to bring focus to the charitable season in the wake of the commercialized Black Friday and Cyber Monday."

Now, I totally get that this year has been hard on everyone, financially but luckily there are so many other ways you can give this Giving Tuesday.

You can give your time, volunteer at a local animal shelter, serve meals at a local homeless shelter or just go and spend time getting out and listening to people who need it most.

You can give things that are no longer of use to you, there are so many organizations out there taking in clothes, winter hats, gloves, and more! With all the extra time we all have had, it's got to be easy to get a box of donations together.

Even the smallest things like paying for the car behind you in the drive-thru, pouring your loose change in the Salvation Army bell ringer's bucket or making dinner for the single mom next door can make a big difference.

If you are in a place financially to donate any kind of money or even "adopt" a senior or a family in need.

No matter how you give, Giving Tuesday is all about giving what you can, where you can and when you can.
