Years ago, Michigan was a destination location for pheasant hunting in the Midwest. Today, upland game wing shooters, are treated to fantastic grouse hunting and the number one State in the country for Woodcock.

With upland game hunting comes the necessity for a skilled shot. The fast paced action of grouse or the erratic motion of the woodcock will challenge any seasoned hunter. Even pheasant hunting can offer some challenges. Despite the bigger bird, pheasants are lightning fast upon take off and can jet off like a rocket!

The Michigan DNR is offering a Wing Shooting class for ages 16 and up at the Rose Lake shooting facility. Several classes will be offered and will teach shooters proper methods and safety. This will be a great way to hone your skills or even learn more about proper firearm handling in the field.
