Area Courts Offer Amnesty to Non-Payers
Have you been naughty? Have you found yourself into the hands of the law? Have you neglected to pay your fines? Ingham County's District Courts are ready to make a deal with you.
An amnesty program has been instituted for a limited time. If you owe fines to either 54-A or 54-B District Courts in Lansing or East Lansing, you can pay your fine in full online, if eligible, and save 20 percent between April 1 and April 30, 2016. Eligibility for online payment is determined by a series of questions.
Meanwhile, those in debt to the 55th District Court must show in person and meet with collections personnel. With the approval of collections personnel, they will remove any late fees and assessment fees. Also, any bench warrants for failure to pay will also be waived.
