Michigan has more boats per capita, than any other state in the country. Being surrounded by 20% of the world's fresh water, lends to that reason.

Starting this weekend, the Michigan DNR and other law enforcement agencies, will be adding extra patrols on the Great Lakes as well as inland waters, looking for those who chose to operate a watercraft under the influence of alcohol. "Operation Dry Water" will be a year long project to educate boaters and their passengers in Michigan.

Every body of water this coming July 4th holiday will have a floating party, so take a few minutes to educate yourself and avoid costly fines, jail time and even serious injury!
