Can You Identify This Marker?
On a small building on Lansing's west side, a building sits tucked behind another and has a strange carved stone.
The image is that of a muscular worker with a barn to one side and an image of our Capitol to the left. The man has a shovel in one hand and has a chain wrapped behind him and the word "Lansing" in the lower right corner. It's reminiscent of the art deco image on the old Board of Water & Light building on Cedar Street, near kalamazoo Street, only much smaller.
The building itself is rather unassuming but has a fence and surveillance cameras on it. So it must hold something somewhat important.
Whatever the case, it's a mystery to me and you know what they say about curiosity. I guess I'm thankful I'm not a cat!
