With the team riding a seven game losing streak, there was nowhere to look but to the future for Mark Dantonio and the Michigan State Spartans. On Saturday, they hit what they hope will be a launch point into next season with a 49-0 win over Rutgers in Spartan Stadium.

Defensive coordinator Harlon Barnett echoed those sentiments during his portion of media availability.

Dantonio was asked if Michigan State winning in the manner it did was an exorcism of sort for all the losing and general struggles through this year.

Offensive Coordinator Dave Warner gave similar thoughts about the effort of the team paying off.

Tyler O'Connor and Josiah Price were instrumental in the Spartans big win today. They connected for two of the team's three touchdowns through the air. For Price he moved up to 4th all-time in receiving touchdowns in Spartan history.

Lastly in the spirit of Veteran's Day, which was on Friday, Michigan State honored one of their own. Wide receiver and Army ROTC Austin Wolfe and his father (also a Veteran) were honored during the game. Wolfe also saw snaps on the offensive side of the ball during the game. The Junior had not seen game action at any point this season.

Michigan State has two games left in the regular season. They'll take on Ohio State at home to wrap up their home schedule before a season finale on the road against Penn State.
