FBI Deems Mackinac Island 5th Violent MI City
The Detroit Free Press reports that with less than 500 people residing year-round, Michigan's legendary vacation destination of Mackinac Island is the 5th most violent city in the state. The motor-vehicle-free island is best known for fudge, horses and care-free summer fun. At least I thought.
According to the 2016 FBI crime statistics released this week, Mackinac Island is more violent than Flint. Perhaps their system is a bit wonky...? You can get all the numbers here - maybe you'll understand and can explain it to me.
