This is what is now being discussed as we get closer to fall and football season, but is there somewhere in Michigan this bubble could be? According to WILX, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said

“Unless players are essentially in a bubble - insulated from the community and they are tested nearly every day - it would be very hard to see how football is able to be played this fall.”

This got me to think, could this bubble happen in Michigan? We have plenty of space, tons of athletic fields/stadiums, and Michiganders love football.  First off all this would involve 32 teams with each team having about 70 players, 15-20 coaches, and somewhere between 10-15 training staff and other staff. That is about 100 people per team so to make the math easy that would mean putting 3,200 people in a bubble for 4 months.

I have an idea but it is also a strange idea on where they could put this bubble and play.....Marquette, MI. Northern Michigan is located here so there are tons of places for players as well as other stay. Along with that there are several parks and fields for the teams to practice or play in. The place where I would put the games would be in an actual bubble, the Superior Dome.

The Dome is a legitimate bubble and it does hold upwards of 16,000, though there probably won't be many people in the stands. The Dome also has field turf that can be picked up and replaced with something else as needed, but most football stadiums use this.

Along with the stadium, the college, and just the overall openness of Marquette and the U.P, there are also few cases of coronavirus. Michigan in general has been going down in the number of cases every day for the last couple of weeks, but in Marquette County there have been 59 confirmed cases with 11 deaths. Along with these low numbers there hasn't been a new case in the county this week.

Obviously there would be some other logistical issues in getting 3,200 people to the U.P. There is Sawyer Air Force Base located only 25 miles away which can probably provide some help. Or you could fly some teams to Green Bay, WI and drive 3 hours to Marquette. Not all of the teams will have to fly in as the Packers can just drive the three hours, plus the Vikings, Bears, and Lions are all within 8 hours of Marquette. Heck the Bears and Lions, can take a boat to Marquette if they want.

This doesn't seem so crazy after I have written it all out and with most if all NFL teams being worth billions of dollars they can afford to get the necessary people up there.
