Former Detroit Broadcaster McLeod To Call Lions Preseason Games

The Detroit Lions announced on Tuesday that former Detroit sportscaster Fred McLeod will replace Matt Shepherd as the play-by-play announcer for Detroit Lions preseason games in 2019.

McLeod will be joined in the booth by former Lion great Chris Spielman and Tori Petry will be the sideline reporter.

Fred takes the place of Matt Shepherd in the booth with Shepherd's commitments as the television announcer for the Detroit Tigers on Fox Sports Detroit.

McLeod spent more than two decades in Detroit as a sportscaster with WJBK-TV 2 and then at WDIV-TV 4 before leaving to become the TV announcer for Cleveland Cavaliers games in 2006.
