If you love getting together over some good barbecue for a good cause in your community, Jackson's third-annual Pork-a-Palooza on Saturday, July 24th is the place for you.

More Than A BBQ Competition

While the competition is definitely part of all the fun that goes down at 308 Brass Rail for Pork-a-Palooza the whole event is to help raise funds for the community theatre company, Center Stage Jackson.

The event happens Saturday from 4PM to 8PM at 308 Prospect St. in Jackson.

The Guest of Honor, BBQ

According to Center Stage Jackson, the winners from the last event in 2019 (no event in 2020 because...you know) included Kirby's Smokehouse BBQ taking first place, Detroit City Smoke in second and Gator's Grill in third.

All winners are chosen by popular vote for a chance to win some money with the first-place competitor receiving $200 and the runner-up winning $150!

To taste-test of all the beautiful barbecue for yourself, the event's Facebook says a $10 gets you tickets to sample each competitor's food, including "signature sides" from each. From there you get one vote for who impressed you the most as well as one drink ticket.

They do say in addition to other proceeds from the event, a portion of drink sales are also going to Center Stage Jackson.

If you wish to compete or help sponsor the event, Center Stage says to contact Wendy Lake at either (517) 745-0491 or WDL7123@gmail.com.
