The Lansing State Journal reports that after an investment in programs, technology and hard work by the staff, Waverly Middle School in Lansing is no longer ranked in the bottom 5 percent of poorly performing schools in the statewide.

A $1.4 million grant funded the purchase of iPads for students to use to assist in creating new math and reading programs.
