The official title is the 2020 Detroit Lions High School Football Coach of the Year, and local DeWitt High School Football coach, Rob Zimmerman, won the title.

Coach of the DeWitt Panthers, Zimmerman has had 30 seasons of high school football coaching, and 25 seasons as an overall head coach. In his time at DeWitt, Zimmerman has gone 222-45.

The DeWitt Panthers won the school’s first state football title on Saturday night. On top of that amazing accomplishment, DeWitt High School’s Rob Zimmerman was named the 2020 Detroit Lions High School Football Coach of the Year.

Back in 2016, Zimmerman was also an inductee to the 2016 Michigan High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame. He also won a previous title under the Detroit Lions High School Football Coach of the week back in week 7 of the 2004 season.
