Michigan Drive In, Up For Number One In America

In 1997, I had the pleasure of judging a Halloween costume contest at the Capri Drive In, in Coldwater, MI. The Magocs (MAY-gose) family became fast friends and I was re- introduced to an American form of family entertainment that I had enjoyed as a kid. Memories of the Lansing area Starlight, M-78, Crest (before it went adult) and Northside Drive In's could all be relived.

Today, John and Susan continue to show current movies to carloads of friends and families from all over the Great Lakes State on two HUGE screens through the modern technology of your own stereo in you vehicle. And if I remember correctly, they still lend out radios if your sound system has given up.

And as an added bonus to the gem of days gone by, The Capri Drive In is being considered by USA Today in their 10 Best In America contest in the Drive In category. You can help make Michigan proud by voting for The Capri and help them get to number 1!
