Michigan Retailer Family Christian Closing All Stores

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that Grand Rapids based Family Christian will close all 240 of its stores nationwide. The non-profit retailer has been operating for 85 years. It filed for bankruptcy protection in 2015. Falling sales since then is forcing the retailer's hand.

Liquidation is in process. Company officials did not give an exact date of closure.

Family Christian employs more than 3,000 people nationwide, operating its 240 stores in 36 states, including 18 in Michigan.
