East Lansing Has A New Cafe on Trowbridge, Great For Crispy Coffee Buns?
You had me at coffee. You really had me at crispy, coffee-flavored crust on a bun with a soft center.
Wait, what?
I don't know if you're ready for the deliciousness that is PappaRoti.
When you walk into this place it smells amazing. The smell of fresh coffee and just so many good things baking that fill your nose.
It's a nice, clean presentation that begs you to come in, sit and enjoy one of their signature, crispy coffee buns. More on those in a minute.
East Lansing just got a new bakery/cafe/coffeehouse on Trowbridge.
Ever since they closed that Wendy's down in the Trowbridge Plaza (kind of next door to Woody's Oasis), I have been wondering what they were going to put in there.
They have been working on it for a while now. Honestly, the name PappaRoti has been on the sign and building for some time as well. I just never decided to look it up.
Turns out PappaRoti (papa-row-ti) is not only the name of the restaurant (and franchise) but also the world-famous coffee bun and FATHER OF ALL BUNS.
It's international.
Papparoti first brought its unique and delicious snack concept to Malaysia in 2003.
The buns start out like this.
That's a bun with a caramel coffee frosting/topping that melts over the buns and forms a crispy shell while keeping the center of the bread nice, soft, and buttery.
What you get looks a little something like this.
They are now open in East Lansing and you can stop by for your coffee, crispy coffee-flavored buns, and more.
Peep the menu.
Here's all the coffee and drinks.
The signature buns start at $3.99 and work their way up price-wise depending on our toppings.
Just when you thought it couldn't get any more decadent, they go and throw ice cream in the middle of those signature, crispy coffee buns.
Located right off-campus and in the Trowbridge Plaza, you really have to give this place a try.
You can stop counting carbs and calories once you walk in the door. This spot and those buns must be experienced.
