Michigan Is A HUGE State, How Big Are We?
I literally have zero life. I think about random stuff like "how deep are the Great Lakes" or "how do planes actually lift off the ground". Another random thought I am thinking about right now is "how big is Michigan compared to the other states in the U.S.".
If you look at a map of the United States, states like California, Texas and Alaska look huge. I did some research about the sizes of states. The total square miles of each state factors in land area and water area. World Population Review also factored in density, uh, ok. I'll be sharing the total area numbers, a combination of both land area and water area.
It's not surprising that states like Alaska, Michigan, Wisconsin and Florida have large square miles of water area. That can make a state's total area look bigger than some of the land locked states.
Michigans ranks close to the top ten sized states in the U.S., thanks to the Great Lakes. It's no surprise to me that Rhode Island ranks dead last.
