The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, has been honored by her hometown of Detroit, ahead of what may be her final performance in front of a home crowd. This weekend she will be a part of the Detroit Music Weekend.

WILX.com reports that the city got a jumpstart on the weekend activities by renaming a downtown street after Franklin. A portion of Madison Street near the Detroit Opera House is now officially named after her after a Thursday ceremony.

Aretha will perform a free concert downtown this Saturday near the newly re-named roadway, across from Ford Field. For details, visit detroitmusicweekend.org.
