In November of 2016, Vietnam Era Air Force, Veteran George Hughes (Ferrocarril), passed away in Fort Worth, Texas. With no known relatives, George was buried at Cedar Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Texas, as an unclaimed body. Following over two years of exhausting legal work, George’s friend, Bill Geresy, arranged to have his body exhumed, cremated, and sent home Michigan, where he will be buried with Military Honors.
Following a Funeral Service in Otsego, MI, Mr. Hughes Committal Service with Military Honors will be held today (Friday, July 26) at 2:00 p.m., at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Rd, Augusta, MI 49012. Base Honor Guard Members from the 110 Wing will participate in the service.
