We Survived the I-75 Scrapfest Near Holly Saturday Afternoon
Saturday afternoon, My Honey and I headed to his parents house in the Detroit 'burbs for their 30th annual 'Toys for Tots' party where they collect HUNDREDS of toys for kids in their area. Travel was moving along smoothly, UNTIL we got onto I 75 SB and started seeing vehicles off the road across the median, moments after flurries started flying and icing up the road. I 75 NB in that stretch near Dixie Highway was apparently more icy than SB, though it was plenty slick enough on the part we traveled.
First we saw a couple cars off the road, a couple fender benders, a flipped vehicle, then a jack-knifed semi, and then a mass of metal all smashed together.
The Detroit Free Press reports that mercifully there were no fatalities in that multi-vehicle pileup.
