Grand Rapids Named ‘Craft Beverage Capital’ By USA Today Writer
Once known as "Beer City, USA" Grand Rapids now has a new title under its belt, as crowned by USA Today's Lydia Schrandt.
According to MLive, Schrandt is the senior photo editor and readers’ choice production manager for USA Today’s 10Best where she recently published “10 places that prove Grand Rapids is the craft beverage capital of the U.S.”
As someone who lived in Grand Rapids the better part of the past five years, I can absolutely attest to the sentiment, there is definitely more than just beer offered when it comes to "craft beverages."
In her article, Schrandt lists 10 different "trendy" spots for beer, cocktails, kombucha, coffee and whatever else you could think to put under the "craft beverage" umbrella like Long Road Distillers, Butcher's Union, Arktos Meadery and more.
As our state's second-largest city continues to boom, there is plenty to see, do and especially drink in good ol' GR. Now it is great to see it getting so much positive recognition!
