WLNS.com reports that a hunter is about to do some jail time and will open up the wallet for some hefty fines after being charged with an illegal baiting incident in Gratiot County.

According to the story, Dexter Sysak from Saginaw County illegally dumped sugar beets and corn on an old golf course in an attempt to bait deer. He apparently bagged a nine-point deer in the process and failed to wear hunter orange.

The egregious disregard for conservation laws will now cost Sysak 45 days in jail, $15,000 in fines and will lose hunting privileges until 2023.
