With heavy travel expected on Michigan roadways for the final holiday weekend of 2016, the Michigan Department of Transportation wants to take some pressure off of drivers. According to WLNS.com, MDOT is expected to suspend 92 of its 131 construction projects on state freeways and trunklines. The temporary work stoppages begin Friday at 3:00pm. Work will resume on Tuesday morning. MDOT's website lists the 39 work zones that will remain active...check it out here. the best news for Mid-Michigan travelers that are northbound is that US-127 will have all lanes open in Gratiot County between Ithaca and Alma.
