(The Six O'Clock Triple Shot is a daily feature of three songs that share a common theme, heard weeknights on 94.9 WMMQ)

It's a big day in American history. Beloved bakery Nabisco opened its doors 117 years ago today on February 3, 1898. The bakery and its brand name have been sold time and time again since the company's inception. But, the one thing that hasn't changed is the salty, sugary, sweet goodness packed into each container of your favorite Nabisco snack. They're responsible for the delectability of Oreos, Chips Ahoy, and Barnum's Animal Crackers. (Check out this recipe for Oreo lasagna!!) The salty greatness of Wheat Thins, Chicken In a Biskit, Ritz, Better Cheddars, among others. And did I mention Wheat Thins? I cursed the day they discontinued Bacon crackers. But, the company came to its senses and at least compromised with bacon flavored Ritz crackers.

It's a bit of a corny theme for tonight's Six O'Clock Triple Shot...but I love me some Oreos and Wheat Thins!! So, here we go with a sugary, salty, sweet trio of rockers. Tune in for Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar On Me", "Salt of the Earth" by The Rolling Stones, and Black Sabbath's "Sweet Leaf"...known to send most to the cupboard for their favorite Nabisco snack).
