‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ Super Bowl Trailer Brings Dinos to Your Bedroom
Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and the dinos are back. The second full trailer for J.A. Bayona’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom arrived during the Super Bowl, and it’ll make you grateful that dinosaurs are still extinct in the real world…for now, anyway.
Blue’s back, baby! And so are all your dino-faves, including the iconic T-Rex and the other raptors that are not named Blue…and, uh, what the hell is up with that opening shot?!
Though the plot still makes little sense from where we’re sitting, we gotta hand it to Universal for putting together an exciting sneak peek for their sequel to Jurassic World. The Super Bowl preview leans heavy on Blue the raptor and the famous T-Rex, while also giving us a glimpse at new characters — including those played by Justice Smith and Toby Jones (who appears to be playing a not so nice guy, unsurprisingly).
Here’s the full synopsis:
It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.
When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom also stars BD Wong, James Cromwell, Ted Levine, Justice Smith, and features Jeff Goldblum’s Ian Malcolm returning for the first time since The Lost World. The film hits theaters June 22.
