Listen to One of Lemmy Kilmister’s Final Studio Performances
One of late Motorhead icon Lemmy Kilmister’s final studio performances can be heard on a new track released today.
“We Are the Ones” was written by guitarist and songwriter Chris Declerq, who persuaded Lemmy, a previous collaborator, to record vocals and bass for the song. It was produced by Cameron Webb, who's worked with Motorhead in the past, and mixed at Dave Grohl’s Studio 666 in Los Angeles.
It was originally reported that this was in fact Lemmy's final performance, but a recent tweet from his management declared that to be false
“We Are the Ones” is available now at Amazon, iTunes and other digital services, and is also available as a limited-edition physical single exclusively via Pacific Records. You can listen to the song above.
Lemmy died on Dec. 28, 2015, at the age of 70, following the release of Motorhead's Bad Magic album. He’d been diagnosed with cancer just two days earlier, after having battled health issues for a number of years. The day after his death, the band;s drummer, Mikkey Dee, confirmed that Motorhead’s career was “over, of course,” noting, “Lemmy was Motorhead.”
