Queen + Adam Lambert Announce North American Tour
Roger Taylor and Brian May have officially announced a new Queen tour in 2014, with former American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert taking the reins as lead singer. May hinted at the possibility through a blog post last month. Now, it's official!! The 19 show tour will hit 18 cities, including Detroit/Auburn Hills, beginning with Chicago on June 19. Tickets for all shows go on sale to the general public Friday March 14, 2014.
This is not the first time May and Taylor have tapped Lambert in the role. He joined Queen for the 2013 iHeartRadio Music Festival here on U.S. soil. May and Taylor appeared on Idol with Lambert in 2009, performing "We Are The Champions". And, the threesome took part in a European Tour in 2012.
As the self-proclaimed, world's biggest Queen fan, I am absolutely geeked at the idea of actually seeing the curly-haired master wield his beautiful hand carved ax in person. Get ready for one hell of a show July 12, 2014 at The Palace of Auburn Hills!!
