Michigan Musician Laith Al-Saadi Wins Spot on the Voice

Back in 2008, Laith Al-Saadi was a performer in the Blues on the Square concert series we held at downtown. All week, the Blues guy Scotty Allman was saying what a great, powerful voice he had. Laith put on a great show and people talked about him for years after.

Scotty still plays Laith Al-Saadi tunes on the Capital City Blues Cruise from 7-9pm on Sunday evening. One of the tunes that has become regular is Ophelia. He has a very distinctive voice and sound.

Last night, Laith won a spot on the NBC singing show, The Voice. He will appear later this month. It will be interesting to see who his coach is. It will also be nice to see more Michigan talent on national tv. A guy we saw first play live in Lansing. Find Laith on Facebook here.
